    The Sustainables show up night after night, month after month, at town council and board of supervisors meetings to advocate for sustainability. Our opinions are respected by government agencies and we often provide citizen input when new ordinances that deal with sustainability are being developed or approved.     We have volunteer opportunities in our campaigns for green building, permaculture, healthy foods, zero waste and non-toxic pest practices. High school students are welcome to earn community service points with us. Read More

Sustainability Agenda

Sustainable Marin sees a myriad of ways we need to alter our policies, programs, practices, education, livelihoods and culture. Many of them can be focused in a "sustainability agenda" to make the "green cities" movement operational. We see this as an urgent undertaking but a long-term process if sustainability goals are to be realized. At the moment, our "sustainability agenda" priorities look like this:
