ABOUT US Sustainable Marin is a non-profit organization of volunteers who advocate and educate about sustainability at the County level in Marin. We aim at tangible, measurable results, and we interact constructively and aggressively with County and city officials and agencies on a variety of sustainability fronts and programs. Sustainable Marin grew originally from its predecessor "Sustainable North Bay", which in the late 1990s spurred initiation of a County-wide Plan framed for long-term sustainability. Formation of Marin sustainability groups at city level, now includes Sustainable San Rafael, Sustainable Novato, Sustainable Fairfax, Sustainable West Marin and Sustainable Mill Valley. We meet quarterly and meanwhile conduct continuous networking and e-mail alerts and advocacy. We aim to support our sister groups and form new ones. Sustainable Marin's officers are, currently, President, Kiki La Porta; Vice President, John Schlag; Treasurer, Ed Mainland, Secretary, along with Board Members Sue Spofford, Pam Harwell-Herero and Richard Schorske.
